per of Indiana and Max Tap-
per of Van Nuys; a sister, Mrs.
Nathan (Helen) Landgarten
of Los Angeles; and four
grandchildren. Interment Los
Angeles.
EVELYN ZALLA,
74, of
Farmington Hills, died July
6. Survived by two sons, Dr.
Harvey B. and Ronnold M.;
two brothers, Albert
Freedland of California and
Sam Freedland; a sister, Mrs.
Brenda Karlinsky of Califor-
nia; and two grandchildren.

Club. He was active in Little
League.
He leaves his wife, Linda;
two sons, Robert and Paul; a
daughter, Amy of Cuyahoga
Falls, Ohio; his mother, Mrs.
Rose Blatt of Pittsburgh, Pa.;
and a brother, Melvin of Tam-
pa, Fla.
HYMAN ZINBERG, 82, of
Detroit, died July 8. No
known survivors.
Miriam Picard
Miriam Braun Picard,
social action committee chair
at Temple Emanu-El, died Ju-
ly 5 at age 56.
Mrs. Picard was an honors
graduate of Syracuse Univer-
sity in 1953 and taught
elementary school in New
York state and Illinois.
She was active in civic af-
fairs in Huntington Woods
and in the public school
system.
She leaves her husband, Dr.
Sol David Picard; two sons,
Daniel and Joshua; a
daughter, Susan; her mother,
Mrs. Charlotte Braun; two
brothers, Zev and David
Braun; and a sister, Mrs. Ir-
win (Judith) Weinstein.
Stanley Blatt
Stanley B. Blatt, owner of a
collision shop in Detroit, died
July 6.
Mr. Blatt, age 51, died
while playing in a baseball
game.
He was a member of the
creation advisory board of the
City of Oak Park and the Oak
Edith Slatkin
Edith Slatkin, 74, a
member of many Jewish
organizations, died July 12.
Mrs. Slatkin headed the
Women's Divison of Project
HOPE, was a Red Cross
volunteer, worked for its
motor division during World
War II, and was a member of
the Knights of Charity,
Hadassah, Women's Ameri-
can ORT and National Coun-
cil of Jewish Women.
She leaves her husband,
Joseph; two sons, Jeffrey and
Dennis; a brother, Gerald
Sparr; and two
grandchildren.
Rose Sheinfeld
Rose Sheinfeld, a volunteer
at the Jewish Home for Aged,
died July 8. Mrs. Sheinfeld,
86, was also active in Na'amat
(Pioneer Women) and was a
longtime member of Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek.
She leaves a son, Leslie
"Issir" Field of W. Lafayette,
Ind.; three daughters, Mary
Ann, Mrs. Leslie (Sally)
Mandel, and Florence Glen; a
sister, Monica Youlis of Ibron-
to, Canada; and eight grand-
children.

Beatrice Jacob, 76, a former
Detroiter who was active in
civic and Jewish causes, died
July 11.
She was a board member of
Hadassah and Women's
American ORT, and was past
president of the Youth Educa-
tion League. She was the
owner of the Ruth Anne Shop
on Fort Street in Detroit.
In California, Mrs. Jacob
was landlord-tennant
mediator and a docent for the
Frank Lloyd Wright complex
in Meridian County.
She leaves a son, Gerald; a
daughter, Ruth Anne Lippitt;
two sisters, Mrs. Ada Eisen of
Toronto and Mrs. Mollie
Berlin; two brothers, Moe
Goldberg of Toronto and Jack
Goldberg; and two
grandchildren.
