Mrs. Picard was an honors graduate of Syracuse Univer- sity in 1953 and taught elementary school in New York state and Illinois. She was active in civic af- fairs in Huntington Woods and in the public school system. She leaves her husband, Dr. Sol David Picard; two sons, Daniel and Joshua; a daughter, Susan; her mother, Mrs. Charlotte Braun; two brothers, Zev and David Braun; and a sister, Mrs. Ir- win (Judith) Weinstein. Stanley Blatt Stanley B. Blatt, owner of a collision shop in Detroit, died July 6. Mr. Blatt, age 51, died while playing in a baseball game. He was a member of the creation advisory board of the City of Oak Park and the Oak Edith Slatkin Edith Slatkin, 74, a member of many Jewish organizations, died July 12. Mrs. Slatkin headed the Women's Divison of Project HOPE, was a Red Cross volunteer, worked for its motor division during World War II, and was a member of the Knights of Charity, Hadassah, Women's Ameri- can ORT and National Coun- cil of Jewish Women. She leaves her husband, Joseph; two sons, Jeffrey and Dennis; a brother, Gerald Sparr; and two grandchildren. Rose Sheinfeld Rose Sheinfeld, a volunteer at the Jewish Home for Aged, died July 8.
