M. Lipman

Marilyn Lipman, two-
term president of Ivan S.
Bloch Chapter of B'nai
B'rith Women, died July
1 at age 60.
Born in Detroit, Mrs.
Lipman held many of-
fices in Bloch Chapter.
She was the past presi-
dent of its bowling league
and of its benevolent
society.
She leaves her hus-
band, Arthur; two sons,
Sanford and Jonathan; a
daughter, Deanna Bran-
cheau; a brother, Murray
Slomovitz; and one
grandson.

late Nate Shapero
created the Shapero
School of Nursing Ex-
cellence at Sinai
Hospital, died June 28 at
age 90.
Born in Montreal, Que.,
Mrs. Shapero lived 63
years in Detroit. Once a
kindergarten teacher in
Chicago, Mrs. Shapero
taught first aid for the
Detroit Red Cross during
World War II.
Mrs. Shapero was ac-
tive in Temple Beth El
and the Jewish Welfare
Federation. She was a
member of Franklin Hills
Country Club and was a
founder of the Sinai
Hospital gift shop.
Mrs. Shapero leaves a
daughter, Marianne
Schwartz; a son, Ray; 11
grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
