Art Auction
Young Israel of Southfield
will have an art expo and auc-
tion in celebration of
Mother's Day on May 8 at the
main United Hebrew Schools
building. The preview will be
at 6:30 p.m. with the auction
at 7:30 p.m.
Among the artists to be ex-
hibited are: Arnold Alaniz,
Yaacov Agam, Calder, Michel
Delacroix, Avram Ebgi, Nor-
man Rockwell, Miro, Picasso,
Will Moses, Hidalgo, Dali, G.
Rodo Boulanger, Leroy
Neiman, Heshi Yu, Mary
Vickers, Gerald Lubeck.
Jonathan Brateman is
chairman of the art expo and
auction. His committee in-
cludes Etta Wilson, Bunny
Kelman, Dora Weiss and
Ruthie Goldberg.
There is an admission
charge, and refreshments will

Paul Jacobs
To Be Honored
Cong. Beth Achim will hold
a congregational Sabbath
dinner honoring its im-
mediate past president, Paul
Jacobs, at 7 p.m. May 6 at the
synagogue.
Jacobs served as president
of the congregation from May
1985-May 1987.
A Kabbalat Sabbath service
preceding the dinner will be
held at 6 Rm.

history of Cong. B'nai Israel
of West Bloomfield, five
women will celebrate their
b'not mitzvah.
Barbara Kirshner, Judy
Zola, Barbara Klein, Sheila
Miller and Hazel Fischer will
chant the blessings and haf-
torah on May 7.
The b'not mitzvah also will
present a new Torah cover to
the synagogue. The public is
invited.
Mother's Day
Dinner Is Slated
Temple Beth Jacob will
have a Mother's Day dinner
at 6:30 p.m. May 6. There is
a charge; children under two
will be admitted free. Place
