topic of the keynote address to
be given at a Singles Day
slated for May 7 at the
Highland Lakes campus of
Oakland Community College,
student center arena.
Dr. John Flatter of the Pro-
blems of Daily Living Clinic
at Sinai Hospital will deliver
the keynote address.
Following his talk, singles
will be able to pick from a
variety of workshops, in-
cluding Dinner for One or
Two — Make it Special,
Divorce and Angry Children,
Looking for Your Owner's
Manual, A Lot More Time for
Fun, Singles and Money,
Single Parenting, Flirting,
Risk Taking, Traveling Single
and Liking It, Are You Ready
for Love, Classified Love,
Thinking Positive in a
Negative World.
The day will close with a
talk by Barbara Halpern on
"Networking." Mrs. Halpern
is an interpersonal com-
munication specialist with
more than 25 years
experience.
There is a fee, and registra-
tion deadline is Wednesday.

The Singles Extension
Group, sponsored by Temple
Israel, will have a "Come Fly
With Us" party at 7:30 p.m.
May 5 at the temple.
The evening, for Jewish
singles age 50 and up, will in-

the music of Wally Duda.

sponsored by SPACE and
scheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday
at Groves High School.
The day will include ad-
dresses by Nickie McWhirter
of the Detroit Free Press and
by Dr. Steven Goren and a
choice from among 16
workshops on such topics as

personal growth and develop-
ment, financial planning,
health, nutrition and stress
management.

Susan Dworkin 12:30 p.m.
Sunday at the Maple/Drake
Jewish Community Center.
The book review and brunch
is sponsored by the Communi-
ty Network for Jewish
Singles. Bagels and coffee will
be served. Admission is free.

Socialites Plan
Sunday Meeting

A regular meeting will be
held by the Rose Sherer
Socialites on Sunday at 1 p.m.
at the Northgate Apts. West
club house. Refreshments will
be served and Archie Leslie
will show movies. Guests are
invited; there is no charge.
This organization is com-
prised of Jewish men and
women age 55 and over. For

Gallery Tour
Is Slated

The Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion Young Adult Division
will have a gallery walk
through Birmingham on May
5, meeting at 7 p.m. in the
Donna Jacobs Gallery, 547 N.
Woodward.
Participants will visit
several Birmingham art
galleries, viewing modern art,
sculptures, 19th and 20th
Century decorative art, and
ancient art and archeological
objects, among others.
Light refreshments will be
served at each gallery. There
is no cover charge for the
evening. Reservations are re-
quired by Thursday.
Stacy Brodsky and David
Rouff are chairmen of the
YAD Social Committee. Beth
Komisar, Beth Margolin and
Larry Rives are associate
chairmen. Jody R. Jacobs is
event coordinator.
