Jerusalem
Video Slated

The senior adult depart-
ment of the Jewish Com-
munity Center of
Metropolitan Detroit will
show the video Jerusalem
Within These Walls at 10 a.m.
in the lobby of the Jimmy
Prentis Morris Building on
Monday and Thursday.
On Tuesday, Yefet Ozery,
Israeli shaliach, will discuss
various aspects of Israel, to be
followed by a discussion
period and a travelogue of
Israel.
On Thursday, Marcie Tanz-
man, soprano, will entertain
and Miriam Margolis will
read selections from her
poetry dealing with Yom
Hatzmaut at the Culture
Club in Jaffe Hall at
12:30 p.m.
The fourth annual Dor
L'Dor Concert will take place
on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at
Adat Shalom Synagogue. A
total of 45 seniors, along with
the sixth graders of Hillel
Day School will perform. This
program is sponsored by the
senior adult department of
the Jewish Community Cen-
ter, Hillel Day School and the
National Council of Jewish
Women. Transportation is
available for Up and Out par-
ticipants through the
N.C.J.W., 258-6000. There is
also a bus leaving from the
JPM Building of the JCC.
Call the JPM, 967-4030.
Refreshments will be served.
A trip to the musical, Kiss
Me Kate, at the Baldwin
Theater on May 19 is being
planned. The charge includes
transportation and theater
ticket. Non-members are in-
vited. The bus will leave from
the Jimmy Prentis Morris
Building at 5:45 p.m. Dinner
is optional. For information,

Current Events
For Russians

A Russian-language, cur-
rent events discussion group
will meet at noon Tuesday at
the Jimmy Prentis Morris
Building of the Jewish Com-
munity Center. There is no
charge.

Seniors To See
Gershwin Show

The senior adult depart-
ment of the Jewish Corn-
munity Center Maple/Drake
Building, will have lunch at
the Appe'teaser Restaurant
and a preview performance of
George Gershwin's Girl Crazy
at the Birmingham Theater
on May 18. The fee includes

bus transportation. Guests
are responsible for their own
lunches.
The bus will depart from
the Maple/Drake Building of
the Center at 11:15 a.m.

Pancake
Breakfast

The Southfield Senior
Adult Advisory Council will
host a pancake breakfast
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sunday
at the Southfield senior adult
center dining room, 24350
Civic Center Drive. Proceeds
from the event will be used
for the benefit of T.O.S.S.,
transportation of Southfield
seniors.

Convention
Bus Available

The national association of
the American Association For
Retired Persons will hold its
14th convention at the Cobo
Conference Exhibition Cen-
ter May 10-12. The Southfield
chapter will have a bus
available for the transporta-
tion for anyone interested in
attending the convention. For

Garden Project
To Meet

Registration for the Senior
Adult Community Garden
Project will take place 1 p.m.
May 4 at the Jewish Com-
munity Center's Jimmy Pren-
tis Morris Building.
The film A Vacant Lot will
be shown. Available land will
be divided among partici-

Secular Jews
Will Gather

The Michigan Coalition of
Secular and Humanistic Jews
will discuss "Who Is a Jew —
A Secular View" at the coali-
tion's fourth annual coalition
day, to be held at the Birm-
ingham Temple on Saturday,
beginning at 10 a.m.
The coalition is the joint
undertaking of the Ann Ar-
bor Jewish Cultural School
and Society. The Birmingham
