Adat Shalom Synagogue
will host Rabbi Neil Gillman,
a scholar of modern Jewish
philosophy and member of
the Jewish Theological
Seminary faculty, April
16-17.
Rabbi Gillman will speak
on "Why Do We Need Dietary
Laws?" during Shabbat mor-
ning services. At noon, April
16, a luncheon will be held,
followed by a dialogue with
Rabbi Gillman. There is a
charge.
On April 17, the Adat
Shalom Men's Club will spon-
sor a brunch discussion with
Rabbi Gillman on "The
Emerging Shape of Conser-
vative Judaism?' A fee may be
paid in advance or at the door.
For luncheon reservations,
call the synagogue office,
851-5100, by Wednesday.

Rabbi Sherwin T. Wine of
the Birmingham Temple will
present the second of four
reviews on the theme "Jewish
Liberation Four
Responses" at 8:30 p.m. Mon-
day at the temple.
He will discuss the book,
Rosa Luxemburg, by Elzbieta
, Ettinger. There is a charge.
