else who is interested in fashion
comes to," said Pederson. "Tavy
was a special person, and we're
just glad that it turned out so
wonderful, and hope that it will
remain a focal point for people
in the field."
"Tavy was the most
spectacular woman, who had a
great impact on so many
people," said Ricki Nederlander,
Fashion Group member, close
friend of Tavy's, and an active
member in the Jewish
community. "She encouraged
people to be the best they
could be."
Nederlander says that she

believes Tavy would have loved
the library named in her honor.
"It's wonderful for people in the
fashion business, and it's a very
high tribute."
Tavy's husband of 36 years,
William Stone, says "I think the
Fashion Group and the
Historical Museum have done a
wonderful job."
"Because Tavy always wanted
other people to be the stars
instead of herself, she probably
would have been embarrassed
by the tribute," he added.
Stone, who dedicated over
1,200 books and articles of
Tavy's to the library, said, "She
was a kind, considerate
individual, who was a friend to
many; the poor, the rich, and
the famous."
"The Library is a wonderful
tribute to a special lady and I
think it will be of great interest
and help to those interested in
the fashion world," he said.
The Tavy Stone Fashion
Library is open from Wednesday
thru Saturday 12-5 p.m.
