You should avoid foods high in
cholesterol. It's a fact, a high
blood cholesterol level sub-
stantially increases your
chances of developing heart
disease. By cutting down on
fatty, rich foods, you can do
yourself a big favor. You could
lower your blood cholesterol
level and reduce your risk of
heart disease.

I

t would seem a most
unlikely place to have
a wedding reception with
dancing and gourmet-style
food galore . . . but Somerset
Mall at night recently dispell-
ed any thoughts people might
have had in wonderment.
The setting was most
unusual for Susie (Cassels)
and Blair Kamins, who had
earlier been ringed in a
private ceremony at Temple
Israel.
About 200 people shared
just about everyone's opinion
that this was truly a very fine
event . . . Matt Prentice,
owner of Sebastian's at
Somerset Mall, and Cafe Jar-
din at Somerset Mall in the
court where a portion of the
people sat, was his usual ex-
cellent self with absolutely
elegant food that had
everyone raving . . . And the
dessert table with homemade
pastries from Sebastian's was
outstanding.
Except for Marilyn and
Nick Gonte, our table was
comprised of same people as
on recent Caribbean cruise
. . . Micki and Joe Kline, Ber-
nice and Al Kesner . . . If the
ship hadn't left on a Saturday,
Marilyn and Nick would have
been on the trip . . . Also from
the cruise were Irene and
Nate Light, parents of the
bride; Delores and Shep
Shuldinger, Corrine and
Sheldon Sinai of Columbus,
Ohio, and Ronnie and Stuart
Sinai.
A lot of people talking, dan-
cing and having a good time
. . . Barrister Ed Gold doing a
first, making Hamotzey over
challah in a mall . . . Donna
and Richard Himmelman,
Marietta and Ernest Drucker,
Terry and Chris Kalinowsky,
Pauline and Ruby Samson,
Ethel and Hy Blackman,
David Light, Alan Cassels,
Jean and Sid Charness, etc.
etc. etc in the throng of about
200.
Matt
Prentice
and
Somerset Mall can take much
credit on a beautiful sendoff
for Susie and Blair . . . And
many husbands can be
mighty thankful that the
Somerset stores were closed.

RETIREMENT DEPT.
. . . both at same time calling

it quits from the nine-to-five
or whatever routine as of
March 31 . . . Pauline and Leo
Weiss . . . with the Michigan
Club of Delray Beach, Fla. to
have a couple of real good new

members . . . Pauline will be
my correspondent for this and
other Florida groups from the
local area if she comes down
in her price . . . Hey Leo,
maybe you can talk her out of
trying to hang it on me for
two bucks a year.
CONGRATS.. . . to Meyer
Waterstone . . . on his 90th
birthday . . . celebrated with
dinner at Carl's by daughters,
Oak Park Mayor Charlotte
Rothstein and Janet Adel-
stein, and son Alvin
Waterstone.
ADDRESS AGAIN for
contributions to those Jewish
inmates at Jackson Prison
having their annual Passover
seder is . . . Checks payable to
Jewish Inmate Benefit Fund,
Temple Beth Israel, Rabbi
Jeffrey Gale, 801 W.
Michigan, Jackson, MI 49202
. . . Receipts sent on request.
CONGRATS. to Lois and
Edward Glick . . . on their
25th anniversary . . . and to
Carol and Shel Klaiman .. .
on their 19th anniversary .. .
Both are the daughters of
Marian and the late Martin
Goldman.

GET WELL WISHES .. .

to photog Dave Dombey .. .
after four-way heart bypass at
Sinai Hospital.
LIMITED SEATING for
that demonstration of low fat
cooking by Elaine Polk, this
Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. at 400
Maple, Ste. 200, Birmingham
. . . No charge . . . Being put
on by Audrey Wittenberg,
leader of support groups for
weight loss control.
CONGRATS. . . . to Mark
Wolok . . . on his 23rd
birthday.
A LOT of work and
togetherness hopes down the
drain . . . as Mumford reunion
1960-1963 is cancelled . . .
Was set for June 24 at Warren
Chateau Hall . . . but the
whole thing's off . . . It may be
rescheduled for a later date if
the committee can get its act
together.
STORY IS TOLD of the
gal who proudly ran to her
friend and exclaimed, "Guess
what? My son is going to Col-
umbia University!" . . . "How
nice," her friend replied.
"What is he studying?" .. .
"He's not studying anything,"
she replied proudly. "They're
studying him!"
CONGRATS. . . . to Rose
and Harry Saltzman . . . on
their 61st anniversary . . .
Rose and Harry were wed in
1927 by Rabbi Joseph
Thumin at the Orthodox Beth
Abraham Synagogue.
