relations in the subject
countries.
Rabbi Rosenzveig estimated
the pre-publication costs of
the encyclopedia will be
$300,000, to be underwritten
by a benefactor Rabbi Rosenz-
veig declined to name. No
publisher for the work has
been chosen, he said.
The project will take three
years to complete, he said.
A managing editor for the
new encyclopedia has not
been chosen. Rabbi Rosenz-
veig said that Prof. Shelly
Frisch of Columbia Universi-
ty, who agreed to edit the
original project, has not been
ruled out as editor of the
revised encyclopedia.
David Wyman, professor of
history at the University of
Massachusetts and author of
The Abandonment of the
Jews, is chairman of the
editorial board of the en-
cyclopedia project.
Wayne State University
Prof. Guy Stern is chairman
of the HMC's academic ad-
visory committee.

Jerusalem (JTA) — A bill for
election reform was introduc-
ed in the Knesset Tuesday by
ten Likud and Labor Party
members.
It would partially revise the
present proportional
representation system. Under
the reform bill, half of the
Knesset's 120 members
would be elected directly from
regions they would represent
and the rest would be selected
according to their position on
their party's election list.
