GREAT DINNERS
ROAST CHICKEN $475
ARE IN AT
ward and 11 1/2 Mile in
Berkley.
LET'S DO away with
an erroneous thought about
Croissant Croissant in South-
field Plaza on Southfield Rd.
and 12 1/2 Mile .. .
It's just a name . . .
Croissants Croissants has 14
tables with 39 seats for folks
to enjoy their food after get-
ting it at a counter . . . and
not just the over 20 kinds of
filled Croissants made there
. . . or almost twice as many
available on request.
Twelve sandwiches are also
on rolls and bread that owner
Al Rubin makes . . . plus dai-
ly homemade soups, eight
made-to-order salads, French
bread pizza, luscious cookies,
(the chocolate chip cookies
are Al's strongest seller),
cheesecake, etc. . . . even
popcorn.
Al is getting big on party
trays . . . expecially veggies
and dessert trays . . . His
croissant Croissant also
makes its own cookies,
struedels, turnovers and
muffins.
A big new addition is the
Colombo Yogurt that tastes
like ice cream and is so very
healthy . . . in cones and sun-
daes . . . Al's two machines
put out over 35 varieties of
Colombo yogurt.
WHEN IT opened Sept. 6,
1987, Hampton's Restaurant
had to overcome unfortunate
experiences by customers of
the previous Alexander's and
Remal's.
Even new owners Tae Sun
and Roy Hampton had their
rough sledding . . . especially
at breakfast . . . The cook was
too slow and service was poor
. . . However, things now seem
to have been gotten together
in the order they want .. .
Their new morning cook is a
breakfast specialist . . . and
the waitstaff has been chang-
ed to give better service.
Tae Sun and Roy pride
themselves on fresh, home-
cooked food seven days a week
(Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m.-9
p.m.; Saturay and Sunday
7:30 a.m.-8 p.m.) . . . It always
has daily specials . . . and
keeping up with what ap-
pears to be a trend for many
small restaurants today,
Hampton's also has a two-for-
one, 12 noon to closing .. .
$7.95 special . . . all seven
days.
Roy is a firm believer about
there not being a second
chance in the restaurant
business . . . a high reason
why he and Tae Sun are work-
ing hard to make their
