Take Seconds
Two local bowlers took se-
cond place in their respective
divisions in the international
B'nai B'rith youth scholar-
ship tournament in
November. Bowlers from the
U.S. and Canada competed in
their local lanes with the
money raised going to fund
scholarships to B'nai B'rith
youth camps.
Mort Friedman, from the
Pisgah league, was second
with a 775 series, including
handicap, in Class A, for
bowlers with a 163 or greater
average. Steve Schoskes of
Zager-Stone/Tucker-Grant
was the runnerup in Class B
with a handicap series of 747.

Sinai Names
Three For Prize
Three Sinai Hospital
employees who worked as
volunteers for two student
support groups have received
the Max Osnos Distinguished
Leadership Award.
Jean McLeod, Sinai ad-
ministrative secretary; Liz
Murphy, nurse manager of
Sinai's surgical intensive care
unit; and Harvey Preston,
Sinai's director of Safety,
received the award, named in
honor of Sinai's founding
president, "for their com-
munity involvement with the
12-Together program."
The program sponsors peer
support groups aimed at
ninth grade students iden-
tified as being at high risk of
dropping out of school.
12-Together is sponsored by
the Metropolitan Detroit
Youth Foundation and is
dedicated to helping students
continue their education.
Sinai Doctor
Team Physician
The United States Cerebral
Palsy Athletic Association
has named Dr. Kenneth
Richter of Sinai Hospital as
team physician for the
cerebral palsy and closed
head injured section of the
1988 U.S. Paralymic Team.
The team will compete in
Seoul, Korea, on Oct. 9-27.
Dr. Richter wil be in charge
of medical coverage for 100
disabled athletes who will be
competing in 14 different
sports. He also has been ap-
pointed to the international
classification committee of
the Cerebral Palsy Interna-
tional Sports and Recreation
Association.
