Jack Front trains for the 1987 Maccabi Games.

observation, were first class
citizens!'
While Front jogs regularly,
he only competes on the
basketball court. "I enjoy it,
I love to keep up with the
younger kids and play basket-
ball with them. I play about
three times a week."
He prefers to think of
himself as "one of the most
experienced players," in the
JCC leagues. When asked if
he must use that experience
in order to compete with the
younger players, Front con-
cedes nothing. "I'm in good
shape and I can run with
them. I don't ask them to give
me anything and I don't give
up anything when I play with
them. I feel that my skills are
fairly comparable. I may not
be as fast as some of 'em but
I can run with most of 'em."
With that type of com-
petitive spirit, combined with
his emphasis on the positive
aspects of sports and competi-
tion, the Maccabi girl basket-
ball players will be well-
coached this year. Before that,
however, the JCC's winter
league players are going to
get a run for their money
from the "experienced" Jack
Front.
