LEAH TOBES, 74, former
Detroiter of Palm Springs,
Fla., died Dec. 10. She leaves
three sons, Dr. Harold of West
Bloomfield, Allan of
Southfield and Dr. Edwin of
Farmington Hills; a daughter,
Mrs. Todd (Sheryl) Grant of
Ann Arbor; two sisters, Mrs.
Herman (Dora) Halberstein
and Mrs. Sam (Etta)
Kleiman, both of Southfield;
and three grandchildren. In-
terment Detroit.

DR. SEYMOUR WIMP-
FHEIMER, 88, of New York
City, died Dec. 4. Survived by
his wife, Vickie; four
daughters, Doris Finkel of
New York City, Susan Abend
of Newton Highlands, Mass.,
Ellie Slovis of Birmingham
and Ann Wimpfheimer
Bokser of New York City; a
son, David of Stinson Beach,
Calif.; a sister, Hilda David-
son of New York; and 14
grandchildren.

JULIUS WURM, 76, died
Dec. 9. He leaves his wife,
Martha; two sons, Lawrence
and Donald; two sisters, Mrs.
Ruth Bleiberg and Mrs.
Lillian Elson; and four
grandchildren.

James Stein

James L. Stein, past presi-
dent of the Furniture Club of
Detroit, died Dec. 11 at age
85.
Born in Chicago, Ill., Mr.
Stein was a retired furniture
manufacturer's represen-
tative. He was a member of
Franklin Hills Country Club
and Temple Beth El.
He leaves his wife, Florence;
a niece and grandnephews.

Marion Davidson

Marion Davidson, a preci-
sion tool engineer, died Dec.
12 at age 72.
Born in Des Moines, Iowa,
Mr. Davidson was a vice presi-
dent ofLone Star Grinding
Co. of Houston, Tex. He was a
member of the Masons and
ASTME — the American
Society of Tool and Manufac-
turing Engineers. Mr. David-
son was chairman of the
American National Stan-
dards Institute and was a gold
card member of the American
Federation of Musicians.

Harold A. Levine, current
president of the Wayne Scrap
Iron and Metal Co., died Dec.
12 at age 67.
Born in Sault Ste. Marie,
Mich., Mr. Levine was a
member of Pisgah Lodge of
B'nai B'rith, Cong. Shaarey
Zedek and the Institute of
Scrap Iron and Metal.
He leaves his wife, Lee; two
daughters, Mrs. Mark (Debra)
Luria and Jody of Los
Angeles, Calif.; two sons,
Robert and Richard; two
sisters, Mrs. Huddy Arons
and Mrs. Betty Rollins; and
three grandchildren.

Bernard Epton,
Ex-Candidate

Chicago — Bernard E. Ep-
ton, former Chicago mayoral
candidate, died Dec. 13 at age
66.
Born in Chicago, Mr. Epton
was educated at the Univer-
sity of Chicago, Northwestern
University and DePaul
University. He was admitted
to the Illinois bar in 1947.
He served as a member of
the Illinois General Assembly
from 1969 to 1982 and was a
member of Lloyds of London
and past president of the Na-
tional Conference of In-
surance Legislators. He also
was a director of the Jewish
Community Centers of
Chicago, trustee of the Col-
lege of Jewish Studies and a
member of the president's
council at St. Xavier College.
During World War II, Mr.
Epton served as a captain
with the Army Air Corps in
Europe and received the
Distinguished Flying Cross
cluster and the Air Medal
three times.

Bernard Barnett

Atlanta, Ga. — Bernard H.
Barnett, past national presi-
dent of the United Jewish Ap-
peal, died Dec. 10 at age 71.
