FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON
GIVE THE GIFT OF GOLD
Ait
Spitzer," as he is affectionate-
ly known, finds that his
customers are more religion
conscious than ever before. As
evidence, he says they are
buying more ritual items
such as mezuzot and taleisim.
In addition to these items,
Spitzer sells menorot and
chanukiyot, kiddush cups,
books on Judaica, bestsellers,
textbooks, cassettes, games,
videos, wines, Hebrew books
and holiday paraphernalia.
Ordained a rabbi in Europe,
following a long family line of
rabbis, Spitzer chose to go in-
to business instead. He prides
himself, however, on the fact
that his five daughters are
married to rabbis and that his
son is a rabbi as well.
It is not unusual to find
Spitzer and Plotnik davening
Minchah in the back room of
the store as sunset arrives in
the wintertime during
business hours.
Mr. Spitzer is a member of
Cong. B'nai Israel-Beth
Yehudah and Mikvah Israel
and is on the board of
Yeshivath Beth Yehudah and
is affiliated with the Yeshivah
Gedolah and the Kollel In-
stitute. He also serves on the
yeshivah's educational gover-
ning board, the Vaad
HaChinuch.
The
Spitzers
pride
themselves on the personal
service they give their
customers. And what does he
see as making his store uni-
que? "Each child I give a can-
dy," he says with a smile. And
his motto? "Come in, I give
you a good deal!"
