Oak Park Mayor Charlotte
M. Rothstein is running for
her fourth two-year term.
Mayor Rothstein has been
on the City Council since
1973. In 1981, she was elected
by a write-in as mayor, after
the untimely death of David
H. Shepherd.
Mayor Rothstein is im-
mediate past president of the
Michigan Association of
Mayors. She was recently
elected to the United States
Conference of Mayors Ad-
visory Board. She is a
member of the human
development policy commit-
tee of the conference and a
member of the same commit-
tee of the National League of
Cities. She also is a member
of SEMCOG'S "CORD" com-
mittee (Council on Regional
Development).
Mayor Rothstein is a
member of B'nai B'rith, the
Anti-Defamation League
board, Hadassah and Jewish
War Veterans Auxiliary.
She was instrumental in
securing the kosher meals at
the Jewish Community
Center in Oak Park and has
worked with the Federation
Neighborhood Project. The ci-
ty of Oak Park and Mayor
Rothstein have worked with
the federal government to
secure the 150-unit senior
citizens apartment building
in Oak Park.
