JHA Seeking
Volunteers

The Jewish Home for Aged
is in need of volunteers to pro-
vide a variety of services for
residents at its three loca-
tions: Borman Hall, Prentis
Manor and the Fleischman
Residence.
Some volunteers are provid-
ed by the JHA Auxiliary.
Among the ongoing projects
in which they assist are:
library, birthday gifts,
Chanukah gifts, flowers at
Rosh Hashanah and Pesach,
gourmet club, outtrips, resi-
dent enrichment programs,
bingo and pokeno.
They also helped to fund
special purchases for the
Jewish Home for Aged such
as therapeutic bathtubs and
audio-visual equipment.
Volunteers also assist pro-
fessional staff members in a
wide variety of service and
program areas, including
auxiliary gift shop, nosh
nook, outtrip excursions for
residents, hobby shop, friend-
ly visiting, Yiddish reading,
resident library/bookmobile,
music group, men's club,
beading and jewelry classes,
cards/games, knitting and
crocheting, gardening club,
exercise group, baking,
writing letters, special events
and holiday decorations.
Groups are especially need-
ed to help out with Sunday
Bingo Games for residents at
both Prentis and Borman
Hall.

Common Ground, Oakland
County's 24-hour crisis
center, needs volunteers to
provide telephone and face-to-
face crisis intervention dur-
ing daytime and early even-
ing hours. Interested in-
dividuals are invited to an
orientation session at 7:30
p.m., on Wednesday at Com-
mon Ground, 1090 S. Adams,
Birmingham. For informa-
