Klarsfeld Talk Topic
For Senior Adult Group

A Book Fair video of Beate
Klarsfeld discussing her
book, The Children of Izieu,
will be shown at 9:30 a.m.
Monday in the atrium of the
Jimmy Prentis Morris
Branch of the Jewish Com-
munity Center, sponsored by
the senior adult department.
Super Senior Fitness with
Ada Bandalene, resumes
Monday after a summer
hiatus at 11 a.m. in the JPM
gym. The program will meet
on Mondays, Wednesdays and
Fridays.
The Mothers Club invites
all its members to a birthday
party at noon Monday in
Jaffe Hall of the JPM.
The choir has a new rehear-
sal schedule, Mondays at 1:30
p.m. in Room 15 of the JPM.
Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg
will speak on "Jewish History
Through the Eyes of the
Torah" at 1 p.m. Tuesday in
the assembly hall.
The second part of the
movie, Here Comes Kelly, will
be shown at 2 p.m. in the
assembly hall of the JPM.
A new support group for the
widowed under the leadership
of social worker Sandy
Hyman will meet at 10 a.m.

programs for Senior Citizens.

Seniors, Families
Join For Event

Detroit-area seniors, their
families, and friends are in-
vited to participate in an
afternoon of musical enter-
tainment on Oct. 11 at 1 p.m.
The National Council of
Jewish Women, Greater
Detroit Section, is offering
the excursion as part of its
"Up and Out" programming
for seniors. Participants will
be transported by bus to
United Hebrew Schools,
where they will view the In-
ternational Opera Company
singing show-tunes, opera
and Hebrew favorites.
Because the event has been
underwritten by the De Roy
Testmentary Foundation,
there is only a nominal
charge, which covers the
show, transportation and
refreshments.
"Up and Out" is sponsored
by the section's community
services department, headed
by Vice President Carol Sue
Coden. This is the first such
day where seniors have been
encouraged to invite guests.
Others responsible for the
Oct. 11 program are Chair-
women Phyllis Bratt and Bet-
ty Grossman and "Up and
Out" Chairwoman Barbara
Stone.

Reviewed

The senior adult depart-
ment at the main Jewish
Community Center an-
nounces Frances Weinberg
will review Henry Roth's Call
It Sleep on Monday at 1 p.m.
in the main center library.

Games Room
Open for Seniors

The Senior Adult Games
Room will resume on Monday
at 10 a.m. at the main Jewish
Community Center. To begin
the fall schedule, favorite
game choices will be
available every Monday in
room 239. Refreshments will
be available.
Lunch is available for pur-
chase in the center cafeteria
or seniors may bring their
own.
