Machon Adds Rabbi
Borden's

Arthur M. Horwitz,
associate publisher of The
Jewish News, will deliver the
keynote address at the B'nai
B'rith Campaign kick-off din-
ner Sept. 14 at Adat Shalom
Synagogue.
Prior to assuming The
Jewish News position, Hor-
witz was marketing and
research manager of The
Baltimore Sun. He gained his
newsroom experience at the
New Haven Register and
Journal-Courier in Connec-
ticut. He came to The Jewish
News from the Baltimore
Jewish Times.
Horwitz received his
bachelor's degree from the
University of Connecticut
and his master's degree from
the Yale School of
Management.
Horwitz is active in the
Jewish Community Center,
B'nai B'rith, the Jewish
Association of Retarded
Citizens and the American-
Israel Chamber of Commerce.
Serving as the general
chairmen for the evening are
Kenneth M. Bertin and David
A. Jaffa.
The Business and Profes-
sional Chapter will have a
meeting Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
at the Whitehall Apts. club
house.
Entertainment will be pro-
vided by the "M and M's,"
comprised of Mimi Summers
and Marlene Feld, who will
present a musical program of
Jewish, Hebrew and Broad-
way tunes. Following the pro-
gram there will be an ice
cream social. Guests are
welcome.
Machon L'Torah Jewish
Learning Network of
Michigan announced that
Rabbi Shmuel Zimmerman of
Minneapolis has joined its
staff.
Rabbi Zimmerman headed
the community education ef-
forts of the Torah Learning
Center of Minnesota. Machon
L'Torah operates within the
greater Detroit area, as well
as on major Michigan cam-
puses, and is headed by Rab-
bi Avraham Jacobovitz of Oak
Park.
Zimmerman, a native of
New York, and a graduate of
Mirrer Yeshiva Central In-
stitute, has been involved in
Jewish education for seven
years, and will be involved in
both educational and ad-
ministrative responsibilities
at Machon L'Torah.
