tional Center for Scholars.
He was a member of the
faculty at City College of New
. York and Columbia Universi-
ty and later served as visiting
professor at Brooklyn College
and Yeshivah University.
Dr. Korey was director of
the ADL Illinois-Missouri
Regional Office and later of
its D.C.-Maryland Regional
Office. In May 1960 he
became director of the B'nai
B'rith United Nations Office
and represented B'nai B'rith
and the Coordinating Board
of Jewish Organizations at
the United Nations.
Dr. Korey is the author of
many articles and books.

In celebration Of the 20th
anniversary of the reunifica-
tion of Jerusalem during the
1967 Six-Day War, Edi and
Dr. Irvin Gastman will host a
B'nai B'rith reception on
behalf of State of Israel Bonds
in their Bloomfield Hills
home at 8 p.m. Sept. 8.
The event will precede the
Einstein Lodge and Chapter
annual dinner for Israel
Bonds, scheduled for Sept. 20.
Guest speaker at the recep-
tion will be Dr. William
Korey, director of policy
research, International Coun-
cil of B'nai B'rith. Dr. Korey
is an authority on Soviet
Jewish affairs and global
human rights.
He is a graduate of the Rus-
sian Institute at Columbia
University where he earned
advanced degrees in history
and international relations.
Among the academic honors
accorded him are the
Carnegie Research Grant and

The senior adult depart-

munity Center, Jimmy Pren-
tis Morris Branch, will show
a video cassette of George
Jonas discussing his book,
Vengeance, at 1:30 p.m. Mon-
day in the library.
Louis Gothelf and Reva
Shwayder Gothelf, artists in
their 80s, will share their
story through a film Young at
Heart and a lecture at 1 p.m.
Tuesday in the assembly hall
of the JPM. The second part
of the movie, Lady in the
Dark, will be shown at 2 p.m.

Nathan Garfinkel will
discuss aspects of the
Holocaust in Yiddish at the
