Steven M. Kaplan of
Southfield was elected to a
four-year term as a trustee of
the Southfield Public Schools
(Southfield School Board).
Kaplan is an assistant pro-
secuting attorney for the
County of Macomb and an ad-
junct assistant professor at
Mercy College of Detroit.
After graduating cum laude
from Detroit College of Law,
he was employed as the
research attorney to
Michigan Court of Appeals
Judge William Beasley and
as the staff attorney to U.S.
District Court Judge George
La Plata.
Kaplan serves on the boards
of directors of HAVEN, Com-
mon Ground, and the
Oakland County Law Library
Foundation. He is a member
of the Selective Service Board
of Michigan and a hearing of-
ficer for the Attorney
Disciplinary Board. He cur-
rently is the president of
Brotherhood-Jacobsen Lodge
of B'nai B'rith.
The City of Oak Park
Department of Recreation an-
nounces that registration is

Camp Rainbow is a summer
day camp designed for men-
tally and physically impaired
individuals ages 8 and up.
