Bill Kennedy

Bill Kennedy, movie actor
and long-time television movie
host, will be honored by the
Detroit Institute of Arts as a
major benefactor at 11 a.m.
June 12 in the museum's recital
hall.
At a ceremony, to which the
public is invited, the board of
trustees of the Associates for
the Performing Arts, acting on
behalf of the DIA, will accept
into the museum's permanent
collection Kennedy's "Fabulous
Files."

Cystic Fibrosis
Benefit Planned

Cystic Fibrosis will sponsor
Celebrity Vegas Night at
Monroe's in Trappers Alley, on

Folk duo Gemini, comprised
of Sandor and Laszlo Slomovits
of Ann Arbor, will be special
guest artists along with Ze'eva
Cohen, internationally ac-
claimed dance virtuoso for the
"Celebration of Survival" spon-
sored by the Holocaust
Memorial Center featuring the
Carolyn Dorfman Dance Com-
pany on Monday at 8 p.m. at
the Lila R. Jones-Johnson
Auditorium, Oakland Com-
munity College, Royal Oak
campus.
By drawing on their own
heritage and by incorporating
elements and instruments from
others the Gemini has
developed its own style ranging
from bones-pennywhistle im-
provisations and guitar duets to
hand-clapping sing-alongs and
quiet ballads.
Ze'eva Cohen will perform
"Mothers of Israel,"
choreographed by Margarit Ov-
ed. Cohen is responsible for the
choreography for Sephardic
Songs which the Carolyn Dorf-
man Dance Company will per-
form. Cohen was born in Israel
and began dancing profes-
sionally at 16. She has long
been associated with Princeton
University's dance programs.
The Carolyn Dorfman Dance
Company will also perform
Cries of the Children, Ms. Dorf-
man's autobiographical work
based on her experiences grow-
ing up the child of Holocaust
survivors.
All seats are reserved and a
limited number of tickets are
