Michelle Levy
Shares Her Rite

Michelle Levy, daughter of
Helen and Robert Levy, will
share her bat mitzvah cere-
mony with Alla Vodovoz,
daughter of Dora and David
Vodovoz of Kishinev, Mol-
davia, USSR, at services
Saturday at Cong. Shaarey
Zedek.
Vodovoz, a driver by trade,
applied to go to Israel with
his parents and a brother in
1972. They were all refused
because of Vodovoz's army
service. His family was later
given permission and left for
Israel. They now live in
Akko. He married and was
again refused in 1973. He
was told that his classified
status would end in January
1977, but was refused again
at that time.
In 1978, he was severely
beaten by drunken "officials."
The children in this family
have lived in "refusal" since
birth.
