bolically share the observance
of his bar mitzvah — 8:45 a.m.

B'nai Moshe — with Roman Fa-
ingersh, son of Mira and
Mikhail Faingersh of Kishinev,
U.S.S.R. Eric is the son of San-
dra and Earle Endelman and
grandson of Sexton Shalom
Ralph.
Roman's father is a refusenik.
While both of Roman's parents
are trained engineers, they
have been fired from their jobs
and are now able to obtain work
only as laborers. Soviet
authorities have denied the
family permission to emigrate,
yet they also refuse to give a
reason for their refusal.
Letters of congratulations to
Roman and his family may be
sent to: U.S.S.R., Moldavian
SSR, Kishinev 2077045, Bub-
novscogo Str. 6/20, Faingersh,
Mikhail
Eric will attempt to call
Roman to congratulate him in
honor of his bar mitzvah.

Deniece Miller will become a
bat mitzvah on Saturday at
Cong. B'nai Israel of West
Bloomfield. She will read Haf-
torah "Emory' Among her fami-
ly and friends in attendance
will be her great-great-aunt
and great-great-uncle, Mildred
and Jack Hurvich of Hamilton
Thwnship, N.J. Also present will
be great-grandmother Esther
Nusbaum, grandparents Julian
and Pearl Nusbaum and Al and
Thelma Miller.
Deniece attends Orchard
Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield. She is the daughter
of Dr. Michael Miller of
Southfield and Sheila Miller of
West Bloomfield.

Steven Sampson, son of Paula
and Michael Sampson, and Jef-
frey Scheinker, son of Marsha
and Paul Scheinker, will twin
their b'nai mitzvah celebrations
with Yisrael Shapiro, son of Lea
and Lev Shapiro of Leningrad,
USSR, 9 a.m. Saturday at Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
Lev Shapiro, an electronics
engineer, worked in the
research department of a radio-
electronics institute in Len-
ingrad until 1970. The
Shapiros applied for exit visas
to Israel in 1977. Lev was refus-
ed on the grounds of alleged
secrecy at his work prior to
1970. Lev's parents were
granted exit visas in 1977 and
came to Israel.
