`Birth Project' Exhibit
Comes To Sinai Hospital

Sinai Hospital of Detroit
will host an exhibit of
selected pieces from Judy
Chicago's "The Birth Project,"
May 4 through May 31.
The exhibit is comprised of
artworks depicting various
stages of the birth process.
Each piece is made of need-
lework, and the exhibit in-
cludes embroidery, quilting,
weaving, crochet, petit point
and reverse applique. Need-
leworkers throughout the
country worked thousands of
hours to create the project.
The exhibit, in the hospi-
tal's Mothers and Infants
Center, will be open to the
public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
seven days a week.
To arrange a guided tour of
"The Birth Project," contact
Connie Stoller, 493-5895.
In conjunction with the ex-
hibit, Sinai Hospital, in asso-
ciation with other organiza-
tions, will sponsor several
programs on issues pertinent
to women.
At 6 p.m. May 7, there will
be a forum on "Self-Image in
the Marketplace: Is Your
Body at Risk?" Speakers in-
clude Dr. Rosalind Griffin,
Dr. Earl Rudner, Michelle
Abel-Horowitz and Florine
Mark. Dell Warner is the
moderator. Admission is free.

"Men and Babies: Feelings
and Fears About Fatherhood"
will take place 7 p.m. May 12
in the hospital's Zuckerman
dining room. Pre-registration
is required. Drs. Charles

Upfal, Judge Susan M.
Moiseev and Renee Mahler.

"Recognition of Women: A
Celebration of Art and Birth"
will take place 5 p.m. May 21
in the Zuckerman au-
ditorium. Panelists include
Marsha Miro, Barbara
Keidan, Deborah Carlson,
and Thersa O'Rourke. Ad-
vance paid reservations are

FOR SENIORS

Games Day For Seniors

All senior adults are in-
vited to participate in a
games day at 1:30 p.m. Sun-
day in the assembly hall of
the Jimmy Prentis Morris
Branch of the Jewish Com-
munity Center. Refreshments
will be served, and prizes
awarded. There is a nominal
charge.
On Monday, the Music
Lovers Hour will present a
videotape of La Boheme at
1:30 p.m. in room 12 of the
JPM. All are invited free of
charge.
The library program will
present a book review by
Frances Weinberg in room 4
at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Short
stories in Yiddish will be pre-
sented by Charles Driker in

the JPM library at 12:30 p.m.
Tuesday.
Rabbi Joseph Gutmann
will present a lecture in the
JPM assembly hall at 1 p.m.
Tuesday. A Russian
travelogue will be shown at 2
p.m. Tuesday in the JPM as-
sembly hall.
The movie, Les Girls, will
be shown at 2 p.m. May 3 in
the JPM assembly hall.
