monies and present a legisla-
tive proclamation declaring
Holocaust Days of Remembr-
ance from April 26-May 3,
coinciding with the national
observance. A gubernatorial
proclamation will be offered
by Lieutenant Governor
Martha Griffiths.
Michael Weiss, winner of
the Children of Holocaust-
Survivors Association — in
Michigan (C.H.A.I.M.)-
sponsored essay contest, will
read his winning entry.
C.H.A.I.M. President Charles
Silow will introduce Weiss.
The East Lansing Cong.
Shaarey Zedek choir, directed
by Cantor Bruce Wechsler,
will participate. A benedic-
tion will be delivered by
Rabbi Charles Rosenzweig of
Detroit's Holocaust Memorial
Center.
Those needing bus trans-

tions. A bus sponsored by the
Jewish Community Council,
C.H.A.I.M., the Albert Eins-
tein Lodge of B'nai B'rith,

World Of Yiddish
Seminar At U-M
Workmen's Circle will
sponsor a seminar, "The
World of Yiddish," at the
University of Michigan in
Ann Arbor.
Henry Sapoznik, founder of
the Kapelya, a Yiddish folks-
inging group, will perform at
7:30 p.m. May 18. He will
also speak on "Early Yiddish
American Music." A restored
1920's version of The Dybbuk
will be shown, 7:30 p.m. May
21.
Prof. Anita Norich will lec-
ture on ghetto poetry, women
in Yiddish literature, Jewish
language in a non-Jewish
culture and Sholem
Aleichem's view of love and
romance.
Aliza Shevrin will share
her insights on authors
whose works she has trans-
lated: I.L Peretz, Zalman
Scheur, Sholem Aleichem and
I.B. Singer.
All of the lectures will be
in English.
