World Of Yiddish Seminar At U-M Workmen's Circle will sponsor a seminar, "The World of Yiddish," at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Henry Sapoznik, founder of the Kapelya, a Yiddish folks- inging group, will perform at 7:30 p.m. May 18. He will also speak on "Early Yiddish American Music." A restored 1920's version of The Dybbuk will be shown, 7:30 p.m. May 21. Prof. Anita Norich will lec- ture on ghetto poetry, women in Yiddish literature, Jewish language in a non-Jewish culture and Sholem Aleichem's view of love and romance. Aliza Shevrin will share her insights on authors whose works she has trans- lated: I.L Peretz, Zalman Scheur, Sholem Aleichem and I.B. Singer. All of the lectures will be in English. There is a fee.
