David Mondry

David Mondry has been
appointed chairman of the
1987 Scopus Award Dinner of
the American Friends of the
Hebrew University by Har-
vey Grace, Michigan Chapter
president.
The dinner, honoring Sen.
Carl Levin and Congressman
Sander Levin, will take place
on May 31 at 5:30 p.m. at the
Hyatt Regency, Dearborn.
A past chairman of the Al-
lied Jewish Campaign, Mon-
dry has held numerous posi-
tions with the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation and other
community organizations. He
also has served on the board
of Sinai Hospital and Detroit
Service Group.
Gov. James J. Blanchard
has accepted the post of hon-
orary chairman for this af-
fair.
The Scopus Award is the
highest award that the
American Friends can confer
on an individual. It repre-
sents the highest ideal's of the
university and is presented to
individuals who throughout
their careers have excelled in
their concern for humanity.

Nursery School
To Conduct Seder

The Helen and Paul Zuc-
kerman Nursery School at
Temple Beth El will hold its
annual nursery school Seder
at 1:30 p.m. today.
In preparation for the
Seder, the children have
made Seder plates, cen-
terpieces and matzah covers.
More than 350 children, par-
ents and grandparents are
expected to attend.
Rabbis Dannel Schwartz
and Marc Blumenthal will of-
ficiate. The Seder will take
place under the direction of
Joy Kaplan, nursery school
director.
Applications are still being
taken for the nursery school's
summer parent/toddler pro-
gram and for the September
nursery - school and kinder-
garten classes.
