APPLE-NUT KUGEL






4 matzahs
V2 cup water or milk
3 eggs
-
V2 cup sugar
• 'A cup melted butter or margarine
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 'A teaspoon salt
• 2 large tart apples, peeled, cored,
and sliced
• 1 cup walnuts, chopped
• 1/2 cup white raisins
• 1 tablespoon butter or margarine

1. Preheat oven to 350
degrees F. Grease a 9-inch
square pan. Break matzah in-
I to small pieces and soak in
water or milk until soft. Drain
well.
2. Combine eggs, sugar,
melted butter, cinnamon, and
salt and beat with a wire
brush. Pour over drained mat-
zah. Stir in apples, walnuts,
and raisins. Pour into baking
pan, and dot with butter.
Bake 30 to 45 minutes or un-
til slightly brown.
Serves 8 to 10.

CHOCOLATE
NUT TORTE

• 6 eggs, separated
• PA cups sugar
• 1 cup walnuts
• 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces
• 2 apples, peeled and cored
• 1 cup matzah cake meal

Processor:
1. Preheat oven to' 350
degrees F. Grease a 9-inch
springform pan:
2.Insert metal blade. Place
egg yolks and sugar in work
bowl and process . for 60
seconds. Add nuts and
chocolate pieces, and process
5 seconds. Add apples, cut in-
to quarters, and pulse 3 or 4
times. Add cake meal and
process 5 Seconds.
3. Beat egg whites until
stiff with an electric mixer.
Fold- into chocolate batter.
Pour into prepared pan and
bake 60 to 60 minutes. Let
cool 15 minutes before remov-
ing sides of pan.
Conventional:
In step 2, beat together egg
yolks and sugar:with electric
mixer. Chop together nuts
and apples and combine with
egg yolks. Add cake meal and
fold in chocolate pieces. Pro-
ceed to step 3.
Serves 10 to 12. .
