Economic Protectionism
Is Beth Achim Topic
Dr. Mordechai Kreinin, pro-
fessor of economics at Michi-
gan State University, will be
joined by Anthony S.
Glickman, managing director
of Intermarket Capital Associ-
ates, Ltd., in exploring the
complex issues involved in fu-
ture American policy on
domestic industry and foreign
imports. They will discuss the
issue at 8:15 p.m. March 12 at
Cong. Beth Achim.
This program, part of Beth
Achim's cultural series mark-
ing its chai (18th) anniversary
year, is made possible through
the patronage of Mr. and Mrs.
Morris Fenkell, Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Gordon and Mr. and Mrs.
Martin Sorkowitz.
Prof. Kreinin, who received
his doctorate in economics
from the University of Michi-
gan, is the author of six books
and more than 120 articles. He
served as a visiting professor at
several universities.
As a professional consultant
he has rendered service to the
International Monetary Fund,
the United Nations, the Na-
tional Science Foundation, the
Brookings Institute, the Fed-
eral Trust of London and sev-
eral other national commis-
sions and business corpora-
tions. Among his academic dis-
tinctions, Prof. Kreinin is a re-
cipient of the 1984 Michigan
Association of Governing
Boards' Faculty Award and the
Distinguished Faculty Award
at Michigan State University
in 1968.
Anthony S. Glickman, a
former vice president at Chem-
ical Bank in New York City
and head of its arbitrage de-
partment, now guides the fi-
nancial network of Intermar-
ket Capital Associates, Ltd., as
managing director and chief
executive officer. He received
his M.B.A. from New York
University. Prior to entering
the field of banking, Glickman,

an ordained rabbi, occupied the
pulpit of a congregation in New
Jersey and was principal of the
Solomon Schecter High School
in Brooklyn.
The program will be moder-
ated by Dr. Edward Rosen-
baum, professor of finance at
the University of Windsor.

community is invited.
Center Gathers Items
For Folk Art Festival
The Jewish Community
Center will have a folk art fes-
tival in March in the Center's
Hamburger Lobby.
Among the items the Center
is looking for are: kiddish cups,
menorot, dresses, candlesticks,
ketubot, yarmulkes and mat-
zah covers. Persons who are
creating their own folk art
pieces are invited to exhibit
them as well.

on "Disciplining Our Chil-
dren" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in
Shiffman Hall at the main
