Senior Adults Kick Off
Jewish Music Month
The senior adult department
of the Jewish Community Cen-
ter will kick off its Jewish
Music Month observance at a
lecture at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the
Jimmy Prentis Morris Branch
assembly hall.
Vivian Stollman, choir di-
rector and discussion leader of
the Music Lovers Hour, will
discuss Jewish Broadway and
classical composers and per-
formers.
The department will join the
National Council of Jewish
Women and Hillel Day School
for the third Dor l'Dor program
in May. The intergenerational
program includes parties,
dinners and lectures for the
children. The program culmi-
nates in a concert.
To initiate the program, the
film, Close Harmony, will be
shown at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the
JPM assembly hall. Persons
interested in joining the pro-
gram should call Judy Blus-
tein, 967-4030.
Self-Discovery Through the
Humanities, a discussion
group focusing on writings by
famous senior adults, will meet
at 11 a.m. Tuesday in room 4 of
the JPM Branch. At 12:30 p.m.

the library.
Chana Klein will lead a dis-
cussion on "Jewish Literature"
on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in
the JPM library.
Celia Goodman will discuss
"Jewish American Short
Stories" at 10:15 a.m. Feb 6 in
room 2 of the JPM Branch.
The film, On Shore, will be
shown at 2 p.m. Sunday in the
JPM assembly hall. Admission
is free.
`Great Decisions'
Series to Begin
The Center for Peace and
Conflict Studies will begin the
33rd year of its "Great Deci-
sions" class, 7:15 p.m. Tuesday
at the Troy Public Library, 510
W. Big Beaver Road.
Topics will include: the Con-
stitution and Foreign Policy,
Defense and the Federal De-
ficit, Egypt and the U.S., The
Pacific Basin, South Africa,
Foreign Investment in the
U.S., Pakistan and Afghanis-
tan and Dealing With Revolu-
tion.
