Monday Is Deadline
For Poster Contest
A grand prize of $250 for
best of show, and four $50
U.S. Savings Bonds for first
place await the winners of
the Jewish Welfare
Federation/Jewish News chil-
dren's poster contest, to be
announced Feb. 1.
"We Are One ... Partners
for Life: What Our Jewish
Community Means to Me" is
the theme of the contest,
being sponsored in celebra-
tion of Federation's 60th an-
niversary.
High school students, as
well as youngsters age five
and older, are eligible to par-
ticipate in the competition
and have only three days left
to meet the Dec. 15 deadline.
All entries must be received
at The Jewish News office no
later than 4:30 p.m. Monday
and have an entry form at-
tached to the back. Posters
should be no smaller than
8 x 10; no larger -than 11 x 14
to qualify.
Several area day and reli-
gious schools have made the
contest a class project to in-
crease awareness among stu-
dents of the services provided
by the Jewish Welfare Feder-
ation and its member agen-
cies and the partnership that
links Jewish Detroiters.
Youngsters do not have to be
enrolled in religious school• to
participate in the contest.
