Prof. Michael Farrell will
begin a lecture series on the
art and culture of China at
7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the
Southfield Public Library.
There is a fee.
Farrell will give a talk on
"Ashikaga/Muromachi: Paint-
ings from Japan" at 7:30 p.m.
Nov. 18 at the Southfield
Public Library. There is a
fee. The talk will be com-
bined with a tour of the De-
troit Institute of Arts
Muromachi exhibit at 12:30
p.m. Nov. 22. There is a
charge.
Farrell will give a survey
of Western art in an eight-
part lecture series beginning
Nov. 26 at the Southfield
Parks and Recreation build-
ing. There is a fee. For in-

Tickets are still available
for the Birmingham Temple's
Vivace series program to be
held at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at
the temple.
The concert will feature
Nikolai Lemberg, flautist,
and pianist Vladimir
Leyetchkiss. They will per-
form works of Borodin, Prok-
fiev, Scriabin and Stravinsky.
Excerpts from Leyetchkiss'
piano transcriptions of
Stravinsky's Rite of Spring
also will be featured.
