Institute Due
For Volunteers

The volunteer services de-
partment of the Jewish Fam-
ily Service and Resettlement
Service will hold its 18th an-
nual volunteer institute on
Thursday at the Jewish Fam-
ily Service Building, 24123
Greenfield Rd., Southfield.
The morning will begin
with a continental breakfast
at 9:30 a.m., followed by a
keynote address to be given
by Bob Bernstein, executive
director of Geriatric Screen-
ing, who will provide a look
at communication with the
elderly.
The institute is open to all
Jewish Family Service and
Resettlement Service volun-
teers, free of charge.
The planning for this an-
nual symposium has been
coordinated by the volunteer
services committee, under the
chairmanship of Sharon Hart.
Other committee members

"Kids Having Kids," an in-
formational forum on teenage
pregnancy, will be presented
at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the
main United Hebrew Schools
building.
The program is offered as a
service to the community by
the Greater Detroit Section,
National Council of Jewish
Women. There is no charge
for the forum.
The event will feature
Judith Widdicombe, executive
director of Reproductive
Health Services, St. Louis,
Mo., who has been a strong
advocate for abortion rights
and family planning for more
than 15 years. Her talk will
be followed by the film, Sweet
16 and Pregnant, a look at
the rise in teenage pregnancy
and its personal and societal
ramifications. The evening
will end with an informal
