said Deeann.
"My husband gave me a
pain killer and I continued to
dance until that scene was
completed," she said.
Deeann's determination to
go on with the show
encouraged Riojas to sponsor
his student in international
dance competition. In 1983,
with Deeann as his partner,
the couple won first prize in
the swing category in the
20th annual International
Dance Championship.
She's been dancing ever
