The Annual Artist Concert
of Music Study Club of Met-
ropolitan Detroit will be held
Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. at Orchestra
Hall.
Yuvall Fichman, Israeli-
born Canadian pianist, and
Ian Swenson, 23-year-old
American violinist, will per-
form.
This concert honors the
memory of Miriam Meckler,
who died in November 1985.
During her long association
with the Music Study Club,
Mrs. Meckler served in
numerous capacities. For 30
years, she was instrumental
in bringing about the annual
artist concerts. A long-time
piano teacher, Mrs. Meckler
was interested in the educa-
tion of young musicians.
Proceeds from the concert
provide scholarships for
young musicians, professional
concert appearances for gifted
young artists; scholarships
and musical instruments for
Israel.
All tickets are tax de-
ductible. Sponsors and
patrons will be listed on the
concert program.
For information, call
President, Corliss Rosenberg,
543-3095.
