LISTENING POST
DANNY RASKIN
HOW TO BECOME a mil-
lionaire in six easy words ...
Have an uncanny lot of
luck" ... That's what David
Rosenman had in a recent
Michigan Super Lotto ...
First week, ten girls called to
marry the now even more
very, very eligible bachelor
... he is the son of Bess and
Sol Rosenman.
CONGRATS . . . to Ab-
raham Goldstein ... on his
75th birthday ... Wife Anne
is a "golf widow" with Abe
playing the links three or
four times a week ... and
blames daughter-in-law
Susan (Les) for teaching him
how to play.
NEXT MEETING of
Southfield Seniors Club, Oct.
1, 1 p.m., in dining room of
McDonnell Towers, will be a
"Candidates Day" for guys
and gals to hear and meet
hopefuls ... Saul Glosser is
president of the group .
Ben Elkin, 1st v.p.; Meyer
Waterstone, 2nd v.p.; Reid
Radner, secretary; Philip Cu-
tler, treasurer; Sherman
Goldman, chaplain; Lewis
Diamond, parliamentarian;
Morry Direnfeld, club re-
porter; and Mickey Alder-
man, advisor.
FINALLY OPENED . . .
and looking quite a bit differ-
ent than the emptiness of
couple weeks ago is Corpora-
tion Cortina at Sugar Tree,
Orchard Lake Rd. North of
Maple.
Opening was last week,
with front sidewalk sparkle-
covered, champagne galore
and hors d'oeuvres by Larry
Bongiovanni of Salvatore
Scallopini, which may possi-
bly take over a few doors
away.
It's owned by Diane Dic-
kinson (same gal who has
Marilyn Brooks at Sugar
Tree) and John Yera
Blowup of photos of Diane's
dad, Richard Lovat, and Aunt
Rina Lovat when they were
tots, hang on the back wall at
Corporation Cortina ... with
family folks coming from To-
ronto ... dad and mom,
Richard and Lucille Lovat,
and Diane's sister, Sonia
Lovat.
The store is a new concept
... "non-gender activewear"
... Designs of the clothing
were formulated during
travels to Orient, Europe and
across North America ...
Sweaters and sweatshirts are
oversized and uncomplicated,
seemingly Oriental design,
yet the prints and knits are
strictly European ... North
country was inspiration for
heavy knit sweaters of all
natural fibers ... and dun-
garies are the weight and
quality one would expect a
cowboy to wear ... However,
like all of Corporation Corti-
na's clothing, they maintain
an urban sophistication.
MICHIGAN JEWISH

lished last year, will be dedi-

and William Davidson, owner
of Detroit Pistons basketball
team.
GET WELL WISHES ...

cuperating at Whitehall Apts.
... after recent stroke.
BARRISTER MICHAEL
ROBBINS was elected to
Family Law Circle at recent
annual three-day meeting by
State Bar of Michigan at
Cobo Hall ... The youngest
attorney ever elected to this
position, he is with Birming-
ham law firm of Victor and
Robbins ... and the son of
Marge and Jerry Robbins.
GEORGE WINGER was
recent winner of senior Golf
Tournament at Glen Oaks.
DEC. 12 has been con-
firmed as date for big Whit-
ney Restaurant Premier ...
Whitney Mansion owner
Richard Kughn and wife
Linda, along with partners
John McCarthy, Ron Fox,
and Gary Kughn, are cur-
rently planning an elegant
seven-course meal for the
premier, which is being held
as a Michigan Cancer Found-
ation affair for it's "Angels"
... The angels are an exclu-
sive group of Michigan's,
civic, business and political
leaders that have committed
a $2,000 donation per couple
to Michigan Cancer Founda-
tion and its programs for
Cancer research, prevention
and patient services.
