Michelle Dorfman, daugh-
ter of Jenny and Eliezer
Dorfman, and Michelle
Wyner, daughter of Diane
and Gary Wyner, will celeb-
rate their b'not mitzvah, with
their Soviet twin, Yelena
Cherniak of Kiev on Satur-
day at Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Yelena's parents, Alexan-

but were denied permission
on the basis of Cherniak's
army service. His troop was
demobilized long before, in
1973.
Since applying to emigrate,
the Cherniaks have suffered
constant harassment by gov-
ernment agents in Kiev. Mrs.
Cherniak was detained in
prison for 15 days on a
charge of "hooliganism."
The Cherniaks were among
seven Kiev refuseniks who
presented a petition request-
ing an interview with the
Minister of Justice to chal-
lenge the legitimacy of their
refusal under Soviet law.
Michelle Wyner and
Michelle .Dorfman each have
received a bracelet with
Yelena Cherniak's name
engraved on it. They hope at
some time in the near future
to be able to send or give
