Holocaust Authority
To Speak At UHS

The Greater Detroit Chap-
ter of Hadassah and Mid-
rasha College of Jewish
Studies will co-sponsor a spe-
cial lunch and learning series
at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday,
continuing Sept. 17 and 24,
at the United Hebrew
Schools, 21550 W. 12 Mile
Rd.
The featured speaker will
be Dr. Yaffa Eliach, the Mid-
rasha Bargman scholar-in-
residence. The series is titled
The Jewish Woman — From
Shtetl to Suburbs to Corpo-
rate Management."
The 47-year-old author of
Chassidic Tales of the
Holocaust is currently profes-
sor of history and literature
in the department of Judaic
studies at Brooklyn College.
She is also director of the
Center for Holocaust Studies
in Brooklyn, the first institu-
tion in the United States de-
voted exclusively to the study
of the Holocaust, and served
on President Carter's
Holocaust Commission.
The planning committee
includes: Annette Lieberson,
Education Vice President,
Hadassah; Renee Wohi, Mid-
rasha Director; Sheila Lam-
pert, Virginia Hoffman, Sue
Rose, Hilda Sonenklar, Anne
Sukenic, Agnes Klein, and
Marcia Kersch.
