At Event At HMC

Fr. Leonard Chrobot,
president of St. Mary's Col-
lege in Orchard Lake, will
\ preside at the fifth annual
joint Polish/Jewish/Ukrainian
merican commemoration of
the Nazi invasion of Poland
to be held on Wednesday at
7:30 p.m. at the Holocaust
Memorial Center.
Rabbi Charles Rosenzvei
_director of the HMC, will
welcome the communities
nd Dr. John Mames will
briefly explain the HMC's
istory and programs. Fol-
lowing the program, the
audience will participate in a
tour of fife Holocaust Memo-
rial Center, guided by
Ro s enzveig, Mames and do-
cents.
Admission is free and the
public is invited.
The program is sponsored
by: American Jewish Corn-
mittee, Detroit chapter;
Polish American Congress,
Michigan Division; Ukrai-
I nian American Coordinating
Council, Metropolitan
Branch; Shaarit Haplaytah;
in cooperation with: St.
Mary's College of Orchard
Lake, Jewish Community
Center of Metro Detroit and
Jewish Community Council
of Metropolitan Detroit.

Oakland Offers
Health Classes'

The Oakland County
health division will offer a
series of six expectant parent
classes beginning 7 p.m. Sept.
L 9, in the Southfield office of
'the health division, 27725
Greenfield.
Topics will include mater-
nal physical changes, good
nutrition, growth and de-
\ velopment of the fetus and
'the baby, labor and delivery,
infant care and parenting.
The health division advises
enrolling as' early in the
pregnancy as possible.
\ A series of six diabetes
classes will be held on
Thursday evenings, begin-
( ning 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at the
health division's Southfield
/ office.
These classes are for - adult
diabetics and their family
members. Topics will include
the nature of the disease,
dietary management, medica-
tions and suggestions for cop-
ing with everyday problems.
There is no fee for either
class. To register, call the
health division, 424-7101.

Toastmasters Offer
Orientation Session

Toastmasters, an interna-
tional organization which
trains people in the art of
public speaking, will hold a
free orientation session, 7:30
p.m. Tuesday, at the Jewish
Community Center in West
Bloomfield.
