fense Forces.
Rabbi Roman is the immediate
past chairman of the committee
on youth of the Central Confer-
ence of American Rabbis (Re-
form) and a vice president of the
Great Lakes — Ohio Valley
regional Association of Reform
Rabbis. He serves on the Rab-
binic Cabinet of the United
Jewish Appeal and on the Com-
munity Services Division of the
Detroit Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion.
He will continue to advise the
programs of MSTY (Michigan
State Temple Youth) as its rab-
binic dean. Rabbi Roman repre-
sented the Detroit soviet Jewry
Committee on a visit to Soviet re-
fuseniks in September 1983 and
was recently named Detroit
Coordinator for MAZON -- A
Jewish Response to Hunger.
The Jewish community is in-
vited to Shabbat services on Aug.
1 at 8 p.m., when Rabbi Roman
and Rabbi Emeritus Ernst Con-
rad will officiate. Rabbi Roman
will speak on "Shehechiyanu —
A First Sermon.
