lished by Peregrine Smith Books

The Sydney Phillips Memorial
Fund for the Handicapped pro-
vides scholarships to handi-
capped individuals and groups
to use the Tamarack Camps
facilities. Camp Tamarack at
Brighton has been outfitted for
use by the handicapped so that
individuals can use wheelchairs
while at camp. Each year the
Muscular Dystrophy Association
holds a week-long retreat in the
spring for children and teens.
The Sydney Phillips Memorial
Fund for the Handicapped was
established by Louis Home and
his late wife Evelyn in memory
of Mrs. Horne's brother who was
handicapped. Mrs. Horne, who
died last April, was active in a
variety of charities, including
Sinai Hospital, and felt a special
concern for the needs of the
handicapped.
