Students Win
UHS Scholarships
The United Hebrew Schools
High School, in cooperation with
/ — the Joint Scholarship Commis-
sion of the Woman's Auxiliary
and the endowment funds of the
United Hebrew Schools, has an-
nounced the winners of the 1986
Israel summer scholarships.
The following students were
recipients of the scholarships:
Susan Allen, Eric Bronstein,
Marci Finkelstein, Howard
Freedland, Avram Friedman,
Cindy Friedman, Michelle
Hubert, Freya Katkowsky, Jef-
frey Kaufman, Michael Nodler,
Brian Rosenblatt, Julie Sacks,
Michael Sasson, Theresa
Shimansky, Todd Steam, Larry
Tepman, Oren Traub and Miriam
Weiner.
The Joint Scholarship Com-
mission is made up of members of
the Woman's Auxiliary of the
UHS and members of the UHS
board of directors. The money
comes from various funds which
have been given to the UHS for
scholarship purposes. Friends of
the UHS who are interested in
providing scholarships to Israel
should contact Dr. Gerald A. Tel-
ler, 354-1050.

Maida Wassermann and Yale
Goldis were recently elected ad-
ministrative vice president and
newspaper editor, respectively,
for the Michigan Region,
Hashachar-Young Judaea 1986-
\ 1987 executive board.

Maida is the daughter of Dr.
and Mrs. Fredric Wassermann of
/-= West Bloomfield, Yale is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. David Goldis of
Farmington Hills.
