chief Leonard Fein and Rabbi
Yaakov G. Rosenberg, vice
chancellor for development of
the Jewish Theological Semi-
nary of America, will speak at
the seminary's annual tribute
dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday at
Adat Shalom Synangogue.
On behalf of the seminary, the
dinner will pay tribute to Can-
tor Israel Fuchs of Cong. Beth
Abraham Hillel Moses, Max and
Alice Goldsmith of Adat Shalom
and Lea and Walter Field of
Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Fein founded his magazine in
1974 and serves as its editor-
in-chief and publisher. In his
academic career as a political
scientist, Fein was on the fa-
culty of M.I.T., where he also
served as deputy director of the
MIT/Harvard Joint Center for
Urban Studies; most recently he
was the Klutznick Professor of
Contemporary Jewish Studies at
Brandeis University. He is the
author of four books, including
Israel: Politics and People,
which was a required text in Is-
raeli universities for more than
ten years.
As an observer and analyst of
the Jewish experience, Dr. Fein
has lectured in more than 300
communities in the United
States and Canada, and has
