Sinai To Host
Cataract Parley
Sinai Hospital of Detroit will
host a national conference on
cataract surgery May 31 and
June 1 at the Hyatt Regency in
Dearborn. The focus of the sym-
posium is to discuss the latest
advances in reducing blindness
caused by and associated with
cataracts.
Renowned cataract surgeons
from across the United States
will discuss such advances as
soft "foldable" implants and
cataract lenses that are inserted
inside the cornea of the eye.
In addition, state-of-the-art
cataract removal equipment will
be introduced. The doctors will
have an opportunity to work in
laboratories and learn how to
use the high-tech machinery.
Sinai ophthalmologist Dr.
Sheldon Stern is the director of
the program.
