The senior adult department of
the Jewish Community Center
will present the film, Flying
own to Rio, at 2 p.m. Sunday in
the assembly hall of the Jimmy
Prentis Morris Branch. Admis-
sion is free.
The library program will pre-
sent Frances Weinberg who will
review The Daughter by Yemina
Avidar at 11 a.m. Tuesday in
room 4 of the JPM Branch. Ad-
mission is free.
The social service club will
honor Sophia Hoffman on her
80th birthday at noon Tuesday in
Jaffe Hall of the JPM.
Mrs. Hoffman is a long-time
president of the club. She also is
active in the senior adult pro-
gram.
Benny Schwarz, community
shaliach, will discuss Israeli poli-
tics at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the JPM
assembly hall. At 2 p.m., the film,
Building a Nation, will be shown.
Admission is free. ---
The senior adults will join the
English language department for
an intercultural luncheon meet-
ing at noon Thursday in the JPM
assembly hall. At 1 p.m., Mimi
Robbins will lead a discussion of
current events in the JPM as-
sembly hall.
The Erev Shabbos Program
will be at 12:30 p.m. May 9 in
Jaffe Hall of the JPM. Cantor
Max Shimansky of Cong. Beth
Achim will provide entertain-
ment.
Following Cantor Shimansky,
Ezekiel Leikin of the Detroit Dis-
trict, Zionist Organization of
America, will speak in Jaffe Hall
of the JPM.
