Author Rabbi Harold Kushner
will be the keynote speaker at the
annual meeting of the Jewish,
Community Center on June 2 at
8 p.m. at the Maple-Drake build-
ing.
Kushner is the author of When
Bad Things Happen to Good
People, and has recently pub-
lished a new book, When All
You've Ever Wanted Isn't
Enough.
A graduate of Columbia Uni-
versity and the Jewish Theologi-
cal Seminary, he holds an honor-
ary doctorate from Hahnemann
Medical Center in Philadelphia.
Before taking a pulpit in
Natick, Mass., Rabbi Kushner
was associate rabbi of Temple Is-
rael, Great Neck, N.Y. For the
past 12 years, he has been par-
ticipating in a popular Sunday
morning religious talk show on a
Boston radio station.

Jerusalem Day
Event Planned

Arik Sinai, Israel pop-folk
singer, will headline the
Jerusalem Day celebration for
the Detroit area on June 5 at 7:30
p.m. at Southfield-Lathrup High
School, jointly sponsored by the
Detroit Zionist Federation,
American Zionist Federation and
other local Zionist groups.
Winner of the "Kinor David"
award as best singer of the year
and recipient of several gold re-
cords, Sinai will visit Detroit on
his sixth U.S. tour, marking the
19th anniversary of the reunifi-
cation of Jerusalem by the Isreal
Defense Forces in the Six-Day
War of 1967.
Chairman Sol P. Lachman an-
nounced that- for every paid adult
admission .a youth ticket (under
18) will be given free. For ticket
