Mr. and Mrs. Mark Goetzler of
New City, N.Y., are pleased to
announce the engagement of their
daughter, Dr. Renee Goetzler of
Brookline, Mass., to Di. Mark
Dershwitz of Natick, Mass.
Dr. Goetzler was graduated
from Boston University School of
Medicine with an M.D. degree,
and is on the staff of University
Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Dershwitz is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Dershwitz of De-
lray Beach, Fla., formerly of Oak
Park. He was graduated from
Northwestern University with an
M.D. degree and Ph.D. degree in
pharmacology, and is an anes-
thesiologist at the Massachusetts
General Hospital in Boston.
The couple will be married in
September.

paramedics training scholarship
in honor of Sam Freedman, past
president, in "recognition of his
splendid, dedicated untiring ef-
forts and outstanding leadership
throughout the years." Jack
Seiderman, president, initiated
and was instrumental in estab-
lishing this scholarship.
A native of Poland and survivor
of the Nazi terror, Freedman
served as lodge president for two
years in the 1960s and his second
term extended from 1971 to 1980.
He is also a member of Shaarit
Haplaytah Organization and past
honoree of the lodge on behalf of

Upon presenting the paramedic
training scholarship award, Dr.
John J. Mames, chairman of the
Michigan Region, American Red
Magen David for Israel, said the
contrtbution will assist Magen
David Adorn (MDA), Israel's na-
tional emergency medical, blood
and ambulance service, in its "vi-
tal humanitarian and lifesaving
programs."
During Freedmin's tenure,
Einstein Lodge, in cooperation
with the chaptet, sponsored a
room at the first aid medical cen-
ter in Ashdod a n d donated two
fully-equipped ambulances to
MDA.
