Zeidan Atashi
The B'nai B'rith Hillel Founda-
tion at Wayne State University
will present Knesset member
Zeidan Atashi noon March 3 in
room 277 of the Student Center
Building on campus. Atashi is a
leading figure in the Israel Druze
community.
The Jewish Students Organiza-
tion at Oakland University will
hear Atashi on March 4 at noon in
the Fireside Lounge of the Oak-
land Center on campus.
MK Atashi represents the
Shinui Party in Israel. He has
played a key role in the Israeli
Druze National Council, and in
liaison work with Syrian Druze in
the Golan Heights and in Leba-
non. Atashi was the first non-
Jewish Israeli to hold a diplomatic
post when he was appointed con-
sul for information in New York.
Atashi, who has been a reporter
on Arab affairs for Israeli televi-
sion and holds a master's degree
in political science from Haifa
University, will address the fol-
lowing topics on his March 3-4
trip to Detroit: "Dangers of Inter-
national Terrorism," "Minorities
in Israel and the Middle East,"
and "The Political Process in Is-
rael and the Chance for Electoral
Reforin."
He was a member of the Knes-
set from,1977 to 1981, consul for
information at the New York
Consulate General of Israel
(1972-1975) and a member of Is-
rael's permanent mission to the
U.N. (1975-1976).
This presentation is open to the

Lecture Slated
At WSU Hillel
The B'nai B'rith Hillel Founda-
tion at Wayne State University
will present a program in its Pro-
fessor Forum for Students series
at noon Wednesday at the Hillel
Lounge, 667 Student Center
Building.
Dr. William Beres of the
physics department will speak on
"Astronomy vs. Astrology —
You're On the Wrong Track with
the Zodiac."
The public is welcome, and a
kosher luncheon will be available
between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at a
nominal charge.
