Beth Achim Youth
Join In Services

Cong. Beth Achim's youth de-
partment will conduct its an-
nual Shabbat Hanoar/Youth
Shabbat service on Saturday at
8:45 a.m. Youth members ages
3-18 will participate and Lahav
United Synagogue Youth
President Avi Friedman will
address the congregation.
At 8 p.m. today, Lahav will
meet for an Oneg at the home of
Avi Friedman, 25911 Stratford
P1., Oak Park. The group will
also meet on Sunday at 1:30
p.m. and celebrate Chanukah at
the Jewish Federation Apart-
ments
in Oak Park with the
-
residents.
Kadima will attend a
Chanukah-Casino party at
Cong. B'nai Moshe with that
Kadima chapter, Sunday meet-
ing at Beth Achim at 1:30 p.m.

Scholarship Award
Winners Named

The youth department of
Cong. Beth Achim has selectef
four award winners for the 1985
Youth Department Scholarship
award made available by Ber-
nard Edelman, "for excellence in
the area of Jewish values and
commitment to the Jewish way
of life."
The four recipients are: Yale
Goldis, son of Mr. and Mrs.
David Goldis of Farmington
Hills; Harriet Sherman, daugh-
ter of Dr. and Mrs. Donald
Sherman of Southfield; Larry
Tepman, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Jerry Tepman of Southfield; and
Barrett Zeff, son of Dr. and Dr.
Lawrence Zeff of West Bloom-
field.
They will be recognized for
their achievements on Saturday
at the annual Youth Shabbat
service.

B'nai Moshe Sets
Holiday Events

B'nai Moshe youth have sev-
eral Chanukah events planned
for the weekend. Kadima
(grades 6-8) will hogt their first
annual Chanukah games day
1:30-4:30 p.m. at the synagogue.
The public is invited and there
is a charge. There will be
games, prizes and refreshments.

Ruach (grades 1-5) will have a
Chanukah luncheon and party
1:30 -3:30 p.m. Sunday at the
home of adviser Robin Pappas,
20425 Harbor Lane, Southfield.

Chazun USY (grades 9-12)
will have a oneg Shabbat 8:30
p.m. today in the youth house
across from the synagogue. For
reservations, call president
Cyndy Friedman, 851-8678.
Chazon will meet at the syna-
gogue 7:30 p.m. Saturday to
attend the "Rocking With
Space" laser show at Cranbrook
Institutions. There is a charge.
